Whirlpool is a mediocre company. I wouldn't touch another one of their products with a ten foot pole. We have to wash our dishes before we place them. Next dishwasher will be a Bosch.

I bought this last month when my old dishwasher broke. It's super quiet, easy to use & my dishes have never seemed so clean! The third rack takes some getting used to, there is a basket if I decide to use it. The 2nd rack adjusts to different heights. So far, I love it!

I have had about a month. It is very, very quiet when running; however, I don't think it dries the dishes all that well. They are always wet when they are done.

I like my dishes to be totally dry when they come out of the finished cycle. Most are but there are multiple items that have a droplets still on them.

I bought super nice Whirlpool dishwasher 11/2019. It is soooo quiet when running. Sleek streamlined appearance. Controls are hidden in the door. It also has adjustable top rack. The real problem is the Dry cycle. It does not dry the dishes that well, always have to hand dry some of dishes in top rack. Have had issues with Whirlpool on our Microwave that we purchased on the same day. They really do not care to work with customers. We purchesd entire Kitchen suite on the same day. Really don't think I would do it again. Whirlpool just does NOT care.

We purchased this dishwasher two months ago and we love it , we had another Whirlpool before this one , this has been improved tremendously and it's so quiet and the inside it's all stainless steel, really beautiful , also it seems to have more space then my older one , not to mention the feature to raise or lower the middle tray which is very convenient on large items to wash ,Thank you

After being delivered two faulty dishwashers, the third one we got was useable and it exceeded expectations. The cycle is a little long but the best is how well it dries with the heat. The dishes come out spotless and with zero water, its great! Happy with my purchase!

Long wash and DRYER DON'T really dry!!!

The appliance looks great and I love it, BUT the performance is a FAILURE. This appliance came with our newly built purchase house, it matches with all the other whirlpool kitchen appliances. Since I started using it I noticed that it takes over 3hrs to wash, sanitized, and dry the dishes. And then on top 3hrs+ of washing the dishes aren't completely dry. There will be water on top of the cups and glasses, and since this came with the house we purchase we don't know if this is covered with warranty since we could not find any warranty papers anymore. I love my whirlpool double oven and washer and dryer, but very UNHAPPY with the whirlpool dishwasher...

We bought this as a necessity, our old dishwasher was "Kaput", The new whirlpool was a quantum leap in features and performance. The ease in loading and selecting the the proper cycle, and the selections of cycles, was sooooo easy and gratifying. I love my new whirlpool!

24 in. Front Control Built-In Tall Tub Dishwasher in Monochromatic Stainless Steel with a Third Level Rack
Whirlpool Dishwasher model WDF590SAJMO
Pros:
Stainless steel exterior.
Stainless steel interior.
Controls are on the front face of the dishwasher and an indicator displays the time left for the chosen cycle.
There is a control lock to avoid unintended use of the dishwasher.
Sound measured in decibels during running: 53 db maximum, 35 db average-quiet but not the quietest on the market.
Third rack for utensils is removable to allow more room for tall glasses or objects in the top rack.
Water and energy efficient:
Estimated energy cost when used with an electric water heater: $35
Estimated energy cost when used with a gas water heater: $25
Triple filtration system; easy to clean filters.
Three levels of spray – top, under the top rack, and at the bottom of the dishwasher.
Top rack is adjustable – two levels.
Top rack is removable to allow room for tall cookie sheets or large pots.
Third level (very top) rack is removable.
Large removable silverware basket with optional drop-down slots to keep silverware from nesting (touching). Silverware basket sits on the bottom rack.
Five cycles: Sensor, Heavy, Normal, Light, 1-Hour Wash.
Four options to be used with the five cycles: Sani Rinse, Hi Temp Wash, Light Dry, Heat Dry.
Delay start up to 24 hours.
Automatically get the right wash and dry settings for each load with two sensors that measure temperature, soil level and load size during prewash and the wash cycle – "Sensor" cycle.
Cycle Memory remembers the last cycle you picked so it's ready to go.
Adjustable rinse aid dispenser for soft or hard water.
This dishwasher cleans efficiently by spraying the dishes with water, and pauses to allow the detergent to soak into and release the soils on the dishes. The cycles are longer due to the soak and pauses, but saves water and energy. The Sensor cycle is used to determine the optimum water and energy consumption. The first Sensor cycle will run longer to calibrate the optical sensor. The dishwasher is designed to be used with rinse aid for improved drying performance and for controlling buildup of hard water deposits. Also, tablets and packs of detergent are recommended over powered or gel dishwasher detergents. The triple filtration system minimizes sound and optimizes water and energy conservation. Filters should be removed and cleaned according to use and water hardness – from once every month to once a year. Water temperature coming into the dishwasher should be at least 120 degrees F (49 degrees C).
Washing a full load of moderately soiled dishes and pans (no stick-on casserole dishes) with Heat Dry took 3 hours and 8 minutes on the first Sensor cycle. There was a bit of condensation on the interior of the dishwasher after the cycle was finished, but the dishes were dry. The noise level was low. I used the 1-Hour Wash cycle with Heat Dry option and the dishes were clean and dry in one hour. However, the 1-Hour Wash cycle uses more water and energy then the other cycles. Since I usually run the dishwasher at night, I will save water by using the "Normal" or "Light" cycles. But when I have company, I can always use the "1-Hour Wash" cycle so I can have a clean dishwasher after dinner! I ran the dishwasher at night after dinner on the "Light" cycle without any heat dry. The cycle took less than two hours. The next morning when I opened the door, there was a bit of condensation on the walls of the dishwasher, but the dishes were dry. This is my preferred cycle. Note: Plastics and items with nonstick surfaces are difficult to dry because they have a porous surface which tends to collect water droplets. Towel drying may be necessary for these items.
Cons:
No quick rinse cycle. However, the instructions recommend only scraping dishes before loading because it will conserve the water and energy that would have been used to rinse the dishes. Only scraping and not rinsing will also save time and effort.
No fold-down pins on top or bottom rack to accommodate large bowls or pans
No fold down wine glass holders
At sound measured as 53 db maximum and 35 db average, this is higher than very quiet models that measure at 47 db, or less, maximum. Note that every 3db is a factor of two in noise power. So this model is four times noisier than a model rated at 47 db. Note, that this does NOT mean that the unit SOUNDS four times noisier to the human ear. To put all this in perspective, normal speech is rated at about 60 db; so, by comparison, this model is four times quieter than normal speech. Since we have an open kitchen, we wanted a quiet machine so we could watch TV or talk in the area. There was no problem with either.
Installation Notes:
This 24" model replaces our old 24" Whirlpool unit that fit perfectly in its opening. This new model, although rated as 24 inches, required the removal of 3/16 inches from a side panel.
The height specifications for the front adjustable legs are incorrect-at least for option 3. Recommend adjusting the rear wheels first according to counter height and then using a level to adjust the front legs.
The distance between slots in the bottom kick panel do not match the separation of the receivers in the front legs. The front legs are 22.25 inches apart; the slots are 22.75 inches apart-a 0.5 inch difference. This required cutting another opening to allow fastening the bottom plate to the machine.
Use the included spring clamp to secure the drain hose. Do not use a screw type of hose clamp as the clamp will damage the hose causing a water leak.
